Shu Uemura Brush – Professional makeup brushes are designed to be used by makeup artists, however the quality and durability of these brushes makes them a good choice for everyone. The following outlines some of the things to consider when shopping for your professional makeup brushes.

• There are 3 general categories of fibers used for makeup brush bristles; natural, synthetic or a mix of the two. The brushes made with both natural and synthetic fibers are commonly referred to as duo fibre.
• Natural fiber brushes are more durable than synthetic brushes and are good at applying dry products such as blush, bronzer, powder and mineral foundations.
• There are several hair types within the natural fiber category. Professional brushes made of natural fibers may have squirrel, pony, goat or sable hair.
• Camel hair is a generic term used to describe brushes made from a mix of squirrel, goat or pony hair.

• Synthetic bristles are made of nylon and are less absorbent than natural fibers. Because synthetic makeup brushes are less absorbent, they are particularly useful for applying liquid foundation and other wet products.
• A complete set of professional brushes may include upwards of 32 brushes, since there are makeup brushes designed for every aspect of makeup application. A makeup artist may require all of these brushes, but for others a smaller selection of 8-10 brushes is typically a good number.

• Purchasing makeup brush sets is typically a more economical way to purchase multiple brushes. If you start with a good cosmetic brush set with 8-10 pieces, you can gradually add individual brushes to your collection over time.
Shu Uemura Brush – Finding the right makeup brushes for your needs is not an easy task. Quality makeup brushes can help create a flawless look by allowing easier, more precise application, but there are so many options in various price points—how do you know which brushes are right for you?
Shu Uemura Brush – Understanding your makeup needs is an essential part of the buying process. If you wear tinted moisturizer every day, it’s likely you don’t need a foundation brush. Do you only wear eye shadow on special occasions? Then skip the expensive eye shadow brushes and opt for cheapies.
Need suggestions? Here’s a list of five key makeup brushes to assist with application and help give your makeup a more professional look:
Shu Uemura Brush – Foundation Brush
If you wear liquid or cream foundation, a synthetic brush with dense bristles in a flat, wide shape works best. Start by applying foundation in the center of your face and sweep outward toward your hairline. A foundation brush helps to create a pore-less finish with even coverage. Can also be used for cream blush.
Shu Uemura Brush – Concealer Brush
Dark circles and blemishes need special attention and this is where a concealer brush comes in handy. For more concentrated coverage like red spots or dark areas, a thin, synthetic brush with slightly longer bristles gets the job done.
Shu Uemura Brush – Blush Brush
A medium-size loose bristled brush works best for powder blush. Try not to use the small applicator that comes with some brushes as it deposits concentrated color in small areas that can look streaky. A fluffy blush brush will allow a light application that can be layered for intensity. Can also be used for bronzer.
Shu Uemura Brush – Eye Shadow Brush
Cream eye shadows are best applied with a fingertip, but powder eye shadows need a brush for even application. A small, square brush can be used for shading as well as all-over color. Be sure to tap off excess shadow to avoid eye shadow fallout on your cheeks (especially with dark colors).
Shu Uemura Brush – Eye Liner Brush
An eyeliner brush is great for liquid or gel eye liner. When damp, it turns any shadow into eye liner as well. The thin, small tip of an eye liner brush allows color to be deposited close to the lash line which creates a dramatic, eye-popping look.

When make-up artists can’t find satisfying tools to do their job, the discontentment may turn into a desire to develop their own products, and so we have Shu Uemura, Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier to thank for arming us with some good stuff to make us look pretty.
The spring 2012 Natural Beauty look.
The latest make-up brand to arrive in Thailand encourages women to be a little bit more ambitious, because why be pretty when you can be gorgeous?
That’s one principle of the “Jerrodisms” that Thai women will hear more about with the opening of Too Faced counters this week at Central Ladprao and Zen Department Store.
Too Faced was founded by Hollywood make-up artist Jerrod Blandino, whose goal was to offer foolproof beauty options. Since its debut in 1998, the brand claims that it had given the cosmetics industry many firsts, such as the original lip plumper called Lip Injection and its sister product, the Lash Injection, which is a mascara with cutting-edge tubing.
The American brand is also notable for retro-inspired packaging that caught the attention of Peangporn Suvarnpradip while she was shopping at Sephora.
“The packaging really appealed and later on I was impressed with the quality of the make-up. I searched for more information on the Too Faced website and saw a picture of Jerrod Blandino, and found him an interesting character,” recalled Peangporn, a marketer of four cosmetics brands before becoming Too Faced’s distributor in Thailand.
During a visit to the US, she amazingly bumped into Blandino at a kitchenware store in Newport Beach, California.
“It happened around one year after discovering Too Faced at Sephora. Jerrod was as much surprised as I was since he didn’t expect a foreigner to know him and his make-up brand,” she said of the chance meeting.
“It was destiny for me to meet Jerrod in order to introduce Too Faced to Thai women. Even though it’s an American brand, the face make-up range offers shades that match Asian skin and oil-free formulas for the humid climate.”
The brand is particularly notable for its make-up palettes that come with easy-to-follow instructions to create different looks.
The Natural at Night palette, for example, contains nine coordinating eyeshadows to create evening, classic and fashion looks. Blandino is also known for being a natural eye expert and another palette comes with hues to do the natural eye, which is one of the trickiest looks to achieve.
With tones inspired by flora, fauna and the beauty of nature, the spring 2012 collection called Natural Beauty is the latest in Blandino’s beauty arsenal to make women look gorgeous.
